Emilee Gilpin has been working in media and communications for over a decade. She was the Managing Director of Canada's National Observer's 'First Nations Forward' series, showcasing stories of strength and success in First Nations across B.C. She worked as the Managing Editor for IndigiNews during it's first year of inception and has spent the last four years as the Senior Communications Advisor and Community Storyteller for Coastal First Nations, Great Bear Initiative.
Emilee specializes in interviewing, writing stories, photography, directing and producing videos, customized content creation, social media management, developing campaigns and project proposals. She has been educating and facilitating for over a decade — on the ethics of communications, relationship-based reporting and crafting stories that increase awareness and inspire change.

She's Michif — Cree-Métis (paternal grandmother Irene Chartrand from Le Pas, Manitoba), Filipina (paternal grandfather Antonio Guevara from Manila, Philippines), Irish, Scottish and British (maternal grandparents) — her mixed background and experiences a strength and responsibility, personally and professionally.
